Let’s face it – Spanish is an awesome language, and it’s fun to learn…but some days, it’s just hard to study. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes it feels like work. And you know one of my rules about learning Spanish: keep it fun.
Well, I have an idea for you. On the days when you feel too tired to study, or when it just feels like too much work and you’ve lost your motivation, do one (or more) of the following activities instead of actual study.
1. Watch (or play in the background) a video from the YouTube channel “Spanish Flashcards“. This will be a low-effort activity, and you’ll benefit from hearing both a Spanish word or phrase and then the English translation. The videos are pretty lengthy, so you can let it play while you do something else. It’s not intensive study, but it will get your brain at least somewhat engaged with Spanish-language input.
2. Listen to some songs you like in espaƱol. I recommend building a playlist of songs you enjoy listening to, because music is a very effective tool for learning Spanish. Ideally (when you have time) you will sit down with a pen, paper, and dictionary and work through translating the songs. But for the moments when you can’t do that, just listen. (It’s OK!).
That’s it – those are two low-effort ideas for you for those days when you just can’t devote yourself to scholarly efforts! Some times, you just need to chill. Remember, keep it fun and don’t allow Spanish to become a chore. Just stay consistent, and you’ll keep progressing. You got this!
